Brick Sandwich (Bike + Run = ick)

7 Miles Running (8 minutes running, 1 minute walking)
Plus 28 Miles Biking (in the rain)
Plus 7 Miles Running (5-7 minutes running, 1 minute walking -- in the rain)
Equals a BRICK SANDWICH!

That is all I have to say about that.....Workout DONE!

hey, you finished it and that is amazing! Out of curiousity what is the benefit of breaking up the run besides less stress on your body at once, and possibly if you don't like running, less boredom? I noticed Ann ran first too.

That is an impressive effort. Interesting approach...

Basically, I just try to trick my body into thinking it only has to run the 7, not the 14. In 2 weeks, when 16 miles is on the schedule, I'll make sure I run 13 at once, but for now, it is much easier to swallow if I break it up. My knees thank me for that too.

Love the concept of a brick sandwich (you may have just invented a new training term). Congrats on an impressive workout in yucky weather conditions. Missed you at SML.
